Mutton Masala Gravy  By Pappan’s Kitchen _ Mutton Spicy Curry _ Mutton Masala



 

Ingredients

 

Mutton………………………………………….500 Grams
Onion sliced…………………………………………..150 Grams
Tomato Blanched(skin removed)…………………………………..300 Grams
Chopped green chillies…………………………………..3 to 4
Chopped Garlic……………………………………………..6 to 8 cloves
Ginger Chopped……………………………………………..A piece of 1 inch
Oil/Ghee……………………………………………..3/4 Cup
Red Chilli Powder………………………………..1 Teaspoon
Turmeric………………………………..1/4 Teaspoon
Salt…………………………………………………….To Taste
Cumin seeds and coriander seeds………………………….1-1/5 Tablespoon Roasted and crushed
Fenugreek leaves………………………………….1 Tablespoon
Whole spice powder………………………………………1/4 Teaspoon



Method

 

  • In a pan, add 500 grams of mutton, 150 grams of onion sliced, chopped garlic, chopped ginger, 3/4 cup of ghee or oil and 2 to 2-1/2 glasses of water and mix.
  • Turn on the flame, when it comes to a boil, cover it and leave it on a very low flame for an hour so that the mutton is tender.
  • After an hour, remove the lid and add 1 teaspoon of red chilli powder, 1/4 teaspoon of turmeric powder and 1-1/5 Tablespoon of Roasted and crushed Cumin seeds and coriander seeds, and fry for 4 to 5 minutes.
  • After four to five minutes, when the oil/ghee separates, then add 300 grams of tomato blanched(skin removed) and three to four chopped green chillies and a quarter cup of water and cover it on a low flame for 2 to 3 minutes.
  • When the tomatoes are cooked, add water for the gravy, salt to taste, 1 Tablespoon of Fenugreek leaves (Kasuri methi) and 1/4 Teaspoon of whole spice powder (garam masala powder), cover it and keep it on a very low flame for 3 to 4 minutes.
  • Turn off the flame after four minutes. remove the lid. Delicious “Mutton Masala Gravy” is ready. Enjoy it
